Command line#
The package installs a hermess command (equivalently python -m hermess):
hermess list # the systems that ship with the package
hermess run 3bus --t-end 5 # simulate one and plot the trajectories
hermess run ieee39_conv --small-signal # the shipped demo scenario
hermess run plots the bus voltages and the internal states unless
--no-plot is given, and takes --t-end, --ts and, for systems of
your own, --system-root. Every other simulation setting of
hermess.config.Config is reachable with --set KEY=VALUE, for
example --set line_dyn=false --set omega_mode=coi.
The desktop GUI has its own entry point, hermess-gui; see Graphical interface.
Reference#
The options below are generated from the parser itself, so they always match the installed version.
HERMESS: time-domain dynamic simulation of power systems modeled by nonlinear differential-algebraic equations.
usage: hermess [-h] [--version] COMMAND ...
Positional Arguments#
- COMMAND
Possible choices: list, run
Named Arguments#
- --version
show program’s version number and exit
Sub-commands#
list#
list the runnable systems
hermess list [-h] [--system-root SYSTEM_ROOT]
Named Arguments#
- --system-root
directory holding the system folders (default: the systems shipped with the package)
run#
run a simulation
hermess run [-h] [--system-root SYSTEM_ROOT] [--t-end T_END] [--ts TS]
[--no-plot] [--small-signal] [--set KEY=VALUE]
system
Positional Arguments#
- system
a system name from hermess list
Named Arguments#
- --system-root
directory holding the system folders (default: the systems shipped with the package)
- --t-end
end time [s]
- --ts
time step [s]
- --no-plot
skip the voltage and state figures
Default:
False- --small-signal
run the small-signal analysis at the operating point
Default:
False- --set
override any hermess.config.Config field (repeatable)
Default:
[]
Any other field of hermess.config.Config is reachable with –set, e.g. –set line_dyn=false –set omega_mode=coi. Values are parsed as JSON, falling back to plain strings.
